Globe Nominations!
Yay the Golden Globe nominations are out. That means we are that much nearer to the awards season and I for one cannot wait(yes yes I am an awards show enthusiast, mock me all you want). For starters, lovestruckcow will be pleased as punch to know that 'Black Swan' has picked up quite a few nominations including Best Picture and Best Actress-Drama for Natalie Portman's portrayal of a haunted ballerina(something tells me that she's going to get lucky at the Oscars this year, just a hunch or wishful thinking,I mean she sure as hell deserved a win for her star turn in 'Closer').'The Social Network' too picked up quite a few nods, and I can without a doubt say will go home with the Best Picture and Director awards(poor Christopher Nolan,he could'nt have picked a worst year to release Inception).Colin Firth will win Best Actor-Drama fo sho for his portrayal of King George the 6th in The King's Speech. In Best Television Series-Drama I want Dexter to win, even though I know Mad Men will be fourth time lucky.Likewise in the comedy category I would prefer it if 30 Rock or Glee won,but something tells me Modern Family will be triumphant at the Globes too just as they were at the Emmys. The biggest Globe shocker though has to be Burlesque getting nominated for Best Movie-Musical or Comedy-considering one film critic described it as Showgirls meets Glitter, begging the question-does it really deserve the nod? Also i'd like to give a shoutout to Emma Stone(whose comic timing and choice in movies I absolutely love) and like really hope she wins her first globe for Easy A,even though I am most definite that either Annete Benning or Julianne Moore will win in that categoryt(Best Actress-Musical or Comedy). So untill January 16th next year, keep your fingers crossed and hope that my Golden Globe favourites don't go home disappointed :P

My First Dress Went a Little Like This
Ok so as you may or may not know,I'm currently in design school, and recently made my very first dress, and as is the tradition,am sharing the almost awesome results with ya'll.This time too my sister Huma was kind enough to take on the ardous task of modelling the clothes. So the inspiration for the shoot(if u can call it that, was those oh so stylish upper east siders on 'Gossip Girl' and 'Teen Vogue' fashion editorials). However the end results turned out way different, but nice nonetheless.Btw i styled the shoot as well,so do let me know what you think!
High waisted tiered skirt-actually my dress with the top bit folded in(a boy's-make that stylist-gotta do what a boy's gotta do),white tank top-Zara,pearls-Forever 21,handbag with gold chain handle-Zara,brooches-off the street in Rajasthan(believe it or not).
And oh if you hadn't already figured out the title of the post is actually a play on the 3-OH-3's song 'My first kiss went a little like this'(just thought you'd like to know).
