Life in Technicolour

This season Dolce and Gabbana realized that the runway is not just a platform through which they can live out their deep dark oiled to perfection fantasies(wink wink) and came out with a commercially viable(read:something people would actually want to wear) collection targetted at their key demographic-fashion forward gentlemen, such as myself, ahem. So there were drain pipe pants in a myriad of colours paired with high tops, pop art inspired sweat shirts/jumpers and bulky fur trimmed jackets-it was basicsally D & G's take on what Gucci does best, and should probably have the monopoly on(considering nobody else can quite seem to pull off the whole preppy thing like them). All in all a good showing, the only downer though? The clothes would've looked better on skinnier models and not the buff adonises that they usually send down the runway!

My take on the trend:

  2. I've got to say though, that I think D&G doing Mickey Mouse and Coke is a little late. Zara, Mango, Uniqlo and a lot of other high street brands have been doing them for three seasons now and it's not like these are markedly different from those.
Also, I miss the slick, sexy, Italian man look D&G usually channels.
